John Colvill built Springside distillery on the west side of Burnside Street in 1830. There are 4 different distilleries around this area and it was running from 1834 to 1837 at the same time. Though the distilleries closed one after another and the Springside distillery was the only one left but it was closed in 1926. Now there stands Hydro Electric's building but you can still find some buildings from those days and the one by Glebe Street is in good condition.

スプリングサイド蒸留所はBurnside Streetの西側に1830年John Colvillによって建てられた。この通りの周辺には四箇所の蒸留所があり、1834年から1837年にかけては同時に操業していたと思われる。しかしその後次々と閉鎖になりSpringside蒸留所のみが1926年まで操業を続け閉鎖した。現在Hydro-Electricの建物などがあるが当時の建物はいくつか残って、Glebe Street側に増築した建物は良い状態で残っている。
