Mossfield distillery was built near Kirk Close on Longrow Street by Harvey & Hunter in 1834. The life of this distillery was one of the shortest one in the town and its said to be closed in 1837. In those days, Kirk Close was a dead end pathway to the church and it had a width of only a column. The distillery is said to stand between Kirk Close and Longrow distillery. Now there stands a flat around there and the wall of the church once used to be a distillery related buildings wall and you can still see some windows in them. On the occasion when I visited this place, my friend John Seddon who lives in Glenbarr supported me a lot. I'd like to give a biggest thanks to him.
