Lochside distillery stood in the town of Montrose in the middle of A92, which connects Dundee and Aberdeen. Joseph W Hobbs bought an old beer brewery established in 1890.He set upped 4 pot stills and 1 Coffey's still and started distilling in 1957. Allied group purchased the distillery in 1992 and in the same year they ceased distilling.
In 1997 the warehouse was closed. After that, local estate agent bought the place and in March, 2006 the structure was pulled down.
Now a beautiful flat stands there and you can't imagine the old days from the site. (May 2008)

ロッホサイド蒸留所はダンディーとアバディーンを結ぶA92のほぼ中間の町モントローズにあった。1890年頃設立された古いビール醸造所をJoseph W Hobbsが買収。4基のポットスチルと1基のコフィースチルを設置し1957年に創業を開始。1992年アライド･グループにより買収。同年生産停止。1997年頃熟成庫が閉鎖。その後、地元不動産業者に売却され2006年3月に取り壊された。
現在は美しいフラットが建ち当時の面影は何も残っていない。(May2008)
