It's in residential street, a mile away to the south from Peterhead the easternmost town of Scotland. It was first run by Donald McLeod & Co in 1830's and they made beer. In 1875 it was remodeled foe whisky distillery and owner changed several times and in 1970, it was owned by Long John International. It was operated till 1983. When I visited there in 1983, there was no structure left from those days but a warehouse with an indistinct paint that said "Long John Scotch Whisky".

スコットランド最東端の町ピーターヘッドから南に1マイルほど行った海を見下ろす住宅街にある。1830年代にドナルド・マクロード社によって操業が開始されたが、しばらくはビール工場として使われた。1875年にウィスキーの蒸留所として建て替えられたが、その後買収などを繰り返し1970年にロング・ジョン・インターナショナル社の物となった。1983年まで創業されたがその年に閉鎖された。訪れた2001年には建物のほとんどが無く、「ロング・ジョン・スコッチ・ウィスキー」の微かなペイントが残る倉庫のみが残っていた。
