Malt Mill distillery was built in 1908 by Peter Mackie. It was built on the site of Lagavulin distillery in the structure of old Ardmore distillery and they tried to distill the traditional Islay Malt Whisky. It was closed in the 1960s and they got together with Lagavulin distillery in 1962. Now there remains a warehouse where they stored malted barley that was sent from Malt Mill kiln. Also The place for floor malting still remains and they renewed this place and it is now used for reception center. They still use 2 big wash backs (Malt Mill). The tiles from the still they used and the last spirit they distilled is kept in there office tightly sealed with wax.

モルト・ミル蒸留所は1908年に、伝統的なアイラ・モルト・ウィスキーを作ろうと、Peter Mackieによってラガヴリン蒸留所の敷地内にある古いArdmore蒸留所の建物の中に建てられた。1960年頃には閉鎖され、1962年ラガヴリン蒸留所と統合した。現在当時の建物はモルト・ミル・キルンから送られるモルトされた麦を貯蔵する貯蔵庫と、製麦場が残っていて、製麦場は改装されレセプション・センターとして使われている。又、やや大きめのウォッシュバック(Malt Mill)2基も使われている。その他スチルの釜のタイルや1962年のラスト・スピリッツが硬く蝋で封がされオフィスに保管されている。
