The distillery was run by Thomas Mackenzie in 1897. It was built as the second factory in the Dailuaine Distillery complex. It was shut in 1900. After it repeated work and shutdown, it was merged with DCL in 1925. Decades later, it was purchased by Allied Distillers Ltd. in 1989. After that, it was later sold to Pernod Ricard and closed in 2005. Demolition was started in the autumn of 2012, so we shall never see the steam from the distillery again. The Chivas Brothers plan to build a new distillery on the site in the very near future.

1897年トーマス・マッケンジーによって創業。隣接するダルユーイン蒸留所の第2工場として建てられた。1900年操業停止。その後操業と休眠を繰り返し1925年DCLに吸収合併。1989年アライド・ディスティラリーズ社に買収。その後ペルノ・リカールの所有となったが2005年閉鎖。2012年の秋取り壊しが始まった。蒸留所から立ち上る蒸気は二度と見ることが出来なくなった。跡地にはシーバス・ブラザーズ社の新しい蒸留所が建設される。
